Rocket League Tournaments Beta Ends Tomorrow

It’s hard to believe that Rocket League came out in 2015, and yet in 2018 it’s more popular than ever. It’s getting more players, expanding to more systems, and still adding more features to make the game special and unique in a way that only it can do. Case and point, for a while now, the team at Psyonix has wanted players to be able to set up their own tournaments. So, on Steam, they’ve set up a beta to allow players to try that out.

And it’s been going well, so well in fact that Psyonix has extended the beta until tomorrow. As they revealed in a tweet, the beta will now go until the 26th and end at 11 AM PST time. So that gives you about 24 more hours to get in on the action.

“We want as many Steam players as possible hopping into tournaments this weekend, so be sure to create tournaments for you and your friends, your team, or some awesome 128-team Dropshot-Rumble madness for all to enjoy!”

It’s not surprising that they extended the beta, after all, when they made the tweet with the announcements, the beta had already racked up an incredible 125,000 tournament matches. Which proves that gamers were playing it in bulk. What’s more, given that this beta gives them relevant data, the more they do it, the more data they can learn.

Not to mention, as we noted above, the Tournaments feature is something that Rocket League players have been wanting for a while, so if they can get a bunch of feedback on it, regardless of whether it’s positive or negative, it’ll be helpful in the long run.

Naturally, there will likely be more betas, and they’ll expand the reach of what gamers can do in them. So it’s good to see that the first one has had a good run.
