Rune Coming To Steam’s Early Access In September

The open world Viking RPG, Rune, is coming to Steam’s Early Access. We even got a release date for the game and a new trailer, and it looks like we’ll be visiting Midgard sooner than we thought.

Rune

Human Head Studios, which is a great name for a development studio, by the way, made a game where you can use human limbs as weapons. Isn’t that the most metal thing that you’ve heard? Yes, yes it is, but it seems like a fitting feature for a Viking RPG that is taking place in the middle of Ragnarok. If you aren’t familiar with Viking mythology, Ragnarok is basically the apocalypse where the sun turns black and everything starts sinking into the sea.

Rune

This looks like a great game, and we don’t have many great Viking RPGs out there at the moment. The combat, from what we’ve seen in the very brief trailer, looks absolutely brutal. Who wouldn’t play a game where you get to fight dragons and also cleave people in half with your sword. Can we also cut those giants in half? We hope so, even though that could be a bit tricky. Where would you find a weapon big enough to chop up a giant?

Anyway, Rune is coming to Steam’s Early Access this September. That’s when we will be able to participate in Ragnarok and join the hunt for Loki.
