Sony Refusing Cross-Play With Other Platforms in ARK: Survival Evolved

ARK: Survival Evolved has been a hot topic of discussion for some time now for a number of reasons. They recently announced quite the price hike for the full version of the game, with many fans believing that the game still isn’t fully ready for release.

This was another key issue, since DLC had been released for a game that still wasn’t finished, which also has a controversial feel about it. Rentable servers have also been recently announced for the game, which gives players the chance to hire servers for private and custom games, though these also come at a price.

There is now some more less than positive news surrounding the game. Jeremy Stieglitz, the Co-Founder of Studio Wildcard, as well as the Lead Designer, Lead Programmer and Co-Creative Director of ARK: Survival Evolved, has taken to Twitter to reveal that Sony are continuing to prevent cross-play for the game between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. When asked if there will ever be the chance for PS4 and Xbox One to play together, he replied: “We have it working internally, but currently Sony won’t allow it :(“

Hopefully this situation will change in the future, and both consoles will be able to share the ARK experience together.
