Spider-Man Game Gets More Details Revealed

We are less than two months away from the arrival of Spider-Man on PS4 via Insomniac Games. This title represents a lot of things for both Sony and Marvel, including the first solo game to feature one of their characters since the Arkham titles that helped set the standard for comic book games. Looks into the game, via trailers and interviews, shows an original story, stunning graphics, and very freeing gameplay. But, there are always more questions to be asked, and some of the team have been giving answers on Twitter.

For example, one of the more interesting questions fans have asked is in regards to the origin story for Peter Parker in this game. For while he was born in the main Marvel Universe, Miles Morales (who is confirmed for the game), was born (originally) in the Ultimate Universe. Leaving many to wonder if this story falls into one or the other. Well, Creative Director Bryan Intihar noted that the story will be a “little bit of both”.

Spider-Man

This greatly falls in line with what the Spider-Man game is trying to be. It’s not pertaining to one particular part of the mythology, but is an amalgamation of them all, thus creating a special story for gamers to enjoy.

The other question that’s been asked is about a Showcase Mode, where gamers can look at the models of the characters in the Spider-Man game in order to see the full detail of them. Sadly, Intihar said a definitive “No.” on that.

Still, even without that mode, the game looks to be something very special. At E3 2018, they teased the arrival of the Sinister Six, as well as The Raft, a key place in the Marvel Universe. And more details should arrive as we get closer to its September 7th release date.
