Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition Details Blanka and Moveset

Street Fighter V was meant to be a very refined fighting game in all aspects of itself. From the gameplay, to the modes, to the characters it started out with. For example, the original roster was only sixteen characters. 8 classic characters (like Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, etc), then four characters who hadn’t been seen in a while, and then four brand new characters. Of course, Capcom also brought forth more characters via DLC for the title, and has been doing so for a few seasons now.

And now, with the arrival of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, even more characters are coming into the game, including the man-beast from Brazil known as Blanka. The character has been around since Street Fighter II, and has had amazing staying power with the fanbase. Now, he returns, but, if you’re not familiar with his gameplay style, Capcom has you covered. For they have released a “Who is…?” video that details Blanka’s moveset and gives you a better look into how he plays.

Street Fighter V

Blanka is a very unique character, and that applies to both his fighting style and his backstory. For you see, Blanka is actually human. His real name is Jimmy, and he survived a plane crash over the Amazon jungle. Because he needed to survive, he learned his unique fighting style, and ate eels a lot, which gave him an electric charge throughout his body. He eventually made his way back to civilization, and even reunited with his mother.

As for how he’s doing in Street Fighter V, check out the official breakdown from Capcom:

“Blanka is living peacefully with his mother, and has adapted well to being introduced back into society. One day, a suspicious salesman approaches him and offers a way to make Blanka famous by mass producing a doll made in Blanka’s likeness. Will it work? Find out in his character story mode!”

There are even more characters coming, so stay tuned.
