Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition Gets Patch Notes/Upgrade Notes

Street Fighter V launched in 2016 as the next main installment in the beloved fighting game franchise. However, it was met with mixed praise. For the game was by far the most refined in terms of gameplay mechanics, but it was also sorely lacking in many of the modes that players had come to expect from Street Fighter. So, Capcom decided to go and make an upgraded version of the game via Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. But, for those who already had the original, you would be able to update it for free.

Capcom took the time to detail how that would work, as well as give Patch Notes for the Arcade Edition itself. For those who have the original game and want to upgrade to the Arcade Edition, all you have to do is download the patch that’ll arrive on the 16th to get the new version of the game. For those who buy the physical disc, you will need to get an update to get certain features, including Extra Battle Mode.

Some of the upgrades you can expect gameplay wise are thus. In Training Mode, you can actually alter the colors of the characters and perform moves to see who has the advantage in certain situations. If you’re blue? You have the advantage. If not? Not so much.

For those wondering if you’ll be able to change your Fighter ID and Home Flag once the Arcade Edition launches, yes, you will be given that chance. It will cost you though. You can spend 200K of in-game money, or, you can pay $9.99 to get it done quicker.

If you’re wanting to prove you’re the absolute best in Street Fighter, then you’ll love the fact that the Arcade Edition brings with it the Grand Master Rank. But it’s only for those who have League Points over 35,000.

Finally, there are a ton of balance changes to the game and all of its 28 characters. You’ll need to check out the full Patch Notes to see how your favorite character is affected.

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will launch on the 16th.
