The Dauntless Intro Cinematic Is Awesome

Intro cinematics can sometimes be weird and poorly executed, but there are some that manage to pull us into a game’s world quite effectively. Dauntless, the upcoming monster slaying game has released a cool new cinematic which shows us what the opening sequence is going to look like when we start the game. We get to see a flying ship, a leader of some sorts that is giving a speech to her rookies about how they are joining the big league now, and then lightning strikes the ship and it all goes downhill from there. It’s is a pretty well scripted cinematic, so we suggest you go and check it out for yourself.

The thing that bothered us the most while watching the intro cinematic was the negation of fall damage. As you can see, the guy that fell from the flying ship just landed on the ground with no repercussions, but he should have turned into a pancake as soon as he hit the ground. But, those are minor details that we shouldn’t worry about. This intro cinematic for Dauntless looks very cool indeed, but we are not sure why they didn’t add a Behemoth at the end for that “wow I’m screwed now” factor that we usually get at the end of these cinematics.
