The Walking Dead The Final Season To Have One More Episode This Year

The story of The Walking Dead The Final Season is a bit of a tragedy. For this was meant to be the final season of the main character Clementine, who had been in the game from Telltale Games since the beginning. As in episode 1 of season 1. Since then, we have seen her grow and evolve in the world that is Walking Dead. Telltale Games had released two episodes of the final season when they announced that they were shutting down as a studio, and that the final season wouldn’t be finished.

Then, at New York Comic Con, Robert Kirkman’s Skybound studio (that does all sorts of media) revealed that they had bought the rights to The Walking Dead Telltale series, and that they would finish it. However, though they had boughten it, there was no way of knowing when it would officially arrive, as a lot of work hard to be done still. Now though, we do have some clues.

During a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything), Skybound Games CEO Ian Howe admitted that though the team was now in charge of the game…they aren’t working on it yet. In fact, they haven’t even started production of the final two episodes. Because of that, he really can’t give us a definitive date or window about when the final two episodes will release.

That being said, after getting even MORE questions about it, he noted this:

“OK, given that you guys have been so supportive and patient, I’m going out on a limb and will say yes, I fully expect Episode 3 to be this year and I’ll be very disappointed if we can’t make that happen,” Howe said. “And what happens after I type a response like this, is that the PR people run into my office and try and take away my computer so I don’t say anything else.”

Given what happened, it’s perfectly fair that at least one episode releases this year, or soon after. Fans honestly don’t care as long as Clementine gets her story finished soon.
