Seems like in The Witcher Season 2 we’ll get to know more about the antagonists Cahir and Fringilla and what their motivations are.
Is a show as strong as its heroes? Yes and no. You can have the best and well-developed heroes, but if the antagonists they go against are ass it won’t be a very satisfying battle. However, when your villains are complex, intimidating, and have tangible motivations, that’s a whole other story. It seems that The Witcher Season 2 is going to delve deeper into the minds of its antagonists.
What are Cahir and Fringilla trying to do? What is the endgame for the Nilfgaard empire? I hope we get some nice explanations and answers to these questions. Since the first season of the show is just setting up future events, season 2 has to deliver with substance. The show really needs a strong plot that can support its three main characters. Naturally, we also must get to know the antagonists a bit more to understand their purpose. The Witcher TV show shows a lot of potential, but it is buried under a lot of mediocrity. Hopefully that changes with season 2.
