We Won’t Be Getting Agony Unrated

Words can’t even begin to describe our hype for Agony, and also our disappointment when we found out how bad the game is. The theme and atmosphere, for the most part, are spot on, but then the sluggish gameplay, the less than terrific graphics (which were much better in trailers than in-game), and various other things really made us sad, and now we won’t even be getting the uncensored version of Agony after all. It seems that the development team isn’t doing too well on their financial front, so they won’t be giving us Agony Unrated, which is a shame.

Agony

Agony could have been so much more, it could have been that title that pushed the limits of controversy in a society where everything seems to get censored. Then the game got censored itself, and since it is not a good one, it didn’t sell very well. The official statement from the developers goes something like this:

We regret to inform you that our company is currently struggling with financial problems. Due to technical and legal reasons, Madmind must cancel the development of Agony Unrated. Part of the team will continue to support Agony on Steam and consoles by publishing new patches.

It seems that another patch for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One is coming this week. It brings a refined lighting system, which is much needed as some areas of the game are pitch black to that extent that you can’t see a soul in sight.
