If you have a computer, you’re most likely using Windows 10. There are people out there that still use Windows 7, but most PC users have upgraded to the latest software from Windows, and it seems like Windows 10 has been installed on a lot of devices.
Are you using Windows 10? Or are you still on Windows 8.1, which is an absolutely stellar OS as well. How surprised would you be if you knew that people predicted that in two or three years Windows 10 would be installed on one billion devices? Do you have any idea how many devices that actually is? While the figure is rather staggering, the prediction was wrong. The OS in question never reached one billion devices, but it got to 700 million. That is still an enormous number.
Thanks to PC Gamer, we found out that back in November of last year the number of devices with this OS was 600 million. Basically, only ten months was needed for another 100 million devices to be added to this sum. If the pace remains the same, 1 billion devices will be reached in three years max.
Still, in the video gaming industry, many things are influential when it comes to operating systems. If an operating system isn’t gaming friendly, it won’t be very popular with the gamers. Still, this is Microsoft we’re talking about, they know how big their gaming community is. Meaning, they’re going to push extra hard in order to make everything is operational and friendly, not just for gamers, but for everyone.
