It seems like Ubisoft is really enforcing the security on PC as Ranked won’t be available to Rainbow Six Siege players that don’t have 2VS turned on.
So, if you are a Rainbow Six Siege player, and you haven’t turned on your 2-Step Verification, you might want to. Remember, doing this will give you a free skin. Don’t you want to get a free skin? Well, it doesn’t actually matter if you want one or not, if you don’t turn on your 2-Step Verification, you soon won’t be able to play the game’s Ranked Mode. That’s right, this isn’t a joke. Ubisoft made it clear that they want all PC players to turn on their 2VS.
What’s the deal with that? We don’t really know, but it seems like account security just got a lot more important all of a sudden. Forcing this on all PC players doesn’t really feel right. If someone doesn’t want 2SV, so be it. Their decision. But locking them out of the Ranked Mode if they don’t turn it on? What the hell Ubisoft? What are you doing? This is a clear act that aims to reduce cheating and hacking, but it seems a bit extreme.
Rainbow Six Siege players can enjoy playing the game without having to worry about this until December 11th. After that, if you want to play Ranked, you activate your 2-Step Verification.
