In the current gaming world, Sony is leading the way with most consoles sold (at over 83 million). Nintendo meanwhile has the hottest console on the market with the Nintendo Switch, and many of its games (both 1st and 3rd party) are selling millions. Then, there’s the team at Microsoft, with the Xbox One line. While still doing decently, it’s hard numerous setbacks over the years, including not having many big titles releasing over the last little while. But, things may be changing during the X018 event.
The event will take place in Mexico City on November 10th, and Microsoft is teasing that really big things are going to be shown there. Including on the events official site, where it says:
“Join us for X018, a global celebration of all things Xbox. X018 is for Xbox fans, where people can watch online for news, first looks, and surprises on the largest live Inside Xbox episode ever,” Xbox’s site about the event said. “Stay tuned on Mixer throughout the weekend for additional news. Coverage streams on Mixer from November 10-11, 2018; Inside Xbox runs 3:00pm–5:00pm DF/CT on Saturday.”
That’s some big promises, and likely it ties into various games and such that they’re aiming to show off and promote. It’s also possible that they’ll talk about their next console that they’ve confirmed is in the works.
“Hosted on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the fourth-annual Xbox FanFest: Mexico City, more than 10,000 fans will join us on site – but you don’t have to travel to Mexico to be part of X018!” Microsoft said when the event was initially announced. “Whether you’ve been with us for years, months, weeks, or you’re still considering joining our global community, this is a moment where all of us come together.”
It certainly sounds like things are going to get interesting for the event. But the real question is, will it be enough to turn things around for the company?
