The universe is in danger, the very last star in all of space is the target of an evil that wants to wipe out all life, and has done a pretty good job of it so far. But, with Solus threatened, several groups of heroes have come together to fight off what's coming, as well as fight themselves if that's what it takes. These heroes are varied, and have a lot of skills and weapons, and they'll need every one of them to win. Welcome to the intense MOBA shooter Battleborn.

In this multiplayer MOBA, you'll play as a character from one of four factions who are trying to protect the star known as Solus from being devoured by evil. You can be one of the Peacekeepers, who are the protectors of the star. You can be one of the Eldrid, who fight to protect the order of the universe. The Rogues, who are mercenaries who want to save their own hides. The Last Light Consortium, who are out for profit and nothing else. Or, you can be part of the Jennerit Empire, and value power above all else.

No matter who you choose, you'll get to play as characters as varied and unique as the character next to them. Choose your character and go to war in a deep singleplayer mode that you can play either by yourself or with friends.

Then, head over to multiplayer and battle your friends in intense 5v5 matches that'll put your skills to the test. The universe needs saving, are you up for it?

Gearbox Software’s 2016 flop of an FPS Battleborn now has a clear path to its death. Publishers 2K announced plans to shut down the multi-hyphenate hero shooter’s servers in January 2021, rendering the game fully unplayable – singleplayer and all. Battleborn’s competitive multiplayer side went free-to-play in June 2017 but the game is now barely played. This is not surprising. You can still download it and have a go, if you are curious about what Gearbox were up to befo...

Gearbox says it's started the process of "sunsetting" hero shooter Battleborn, and has warned fans that the game will go offline for good in January 2021. Battleborn was reasonably well-received when it launched for PC and consoles in 2016, with many praising its ambitious, inventive blend of first-person shooting and MOBA-style action, even if the combination didn't always land in practice. Unfortunately for Battleborn, it was quickly overshadowed by Blizzard's Overwatch, whose success was as i...

My brother’s elderly cat decided to start pooping behind the television rather than take himself outside. To combat this my mother set up a row of cacti at cat butt height behind the television and thus began a battle of wills which spanned that cat’s remaining years. Speaking of free-to-play competitive multiplayer scenarios you can enjoy from the comfort of your living room, Battleborn has now made its competitive multiplayer modes available free of charge. …
