Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a side-scroller RPG in which we play as an orphan that has an alchemist curse that slowly turns her body into a crystal. It was developed by ArtPlay and published by 505 Games on June 18th, 2019.
Koji Igarashi is the brilliant mind behind this side-scroller that has a big focus on exploration. Fight your way through a castle infested with vicious demons and slay its master in order to save both humanity and your own life!
Imagine all of the best parts of the Metroidvania genre merged together into one exhilarating and moving experience. You are Miriam, a child that bears an alchemist's curse that is crystallizing her body slowly, but surely. Enjoy expertly crafted gameplay that comes packed together with a story that features gothic dark fantasy elements. Witness intense story cut scenes and interactions with NPCs that have fully voiced lines.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has three playable characters, incredible amounts of weapons and spells which can be upgraded, leveled up, and visually customized in distinct ways. Will you be able to overcome the obstacles in front of you as you make your way to your old friend that is more crystal than human at this point?

Humble Bundle has just launched the Humble Indie Hits sale where you can find up to 96 per cent off a wide range of some of the very best independently developed games. A good 100 or so new and classic titles are included, ranging from recent releases such as Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the soon-to-be-updated No Man's Sky and time-twisty platformer Braid. To cut through the mass, I've picked out a few highlights for you below. Some of these are more popular picks, whereas others are notew...

Developer: ArtPlay Publisher: 505 Games Release: Out now On: Windows From: Steam, GOG, Humble For: 35, $40, 40 I ve put in dozens of hours into as many Metroidvania games at this point, and whenever I play them I get anxious. Mostly about getting hopelessly lost, failing to circle back for something important, or forgetting the extensive and mostly unspoken rules the genre has developed over its history. After playing Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night, I think I m starting to properly get the ...

Green Man Gaming has launched a new promotion that allows you to save 20 per cent on a selection of new and upcoming game releases. Probably the most exciting of the bunch is a chance to get Wolfenstein: Youngblood for 19.99. All you need to do is use the code 'NEW20' at the checkout. The co-operative shooter takes place almost two decades after the rather brilliant New Colossus and follows BJ Blazckowicz's twin daughters as they attempt to take down the Nazi regime. It's scheduled for release o...

The term 'spiritual successor' is bandied about a lot. It's a double-edged term, really, one that not only enables a new game to piggyback onto an already-established, popular franchise but also imbues it with palpable - and occasionally unobtainable - expectation. That was my fear, at least initially, with Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. A Castlevania game in all but name, it burst onto Kickstarter as one of crowdfunding's most notable and successful campaigns, but with every delay and every...
