Call of Duty: World at War is a WWII shooter that showcases the chaos and brutal realism of the most devastating war the world has ever seen. The game was developed by Treyarch and published by Activision on November 18th, 2008.

Band together with your fellow soldiers to survive the bloodiest and most intense battles that ultimately resulted in the destruction of the Axis forces on both the Pacific and European fronts. Take a look at an uncensored experience which shows smart enemies, a lot of combat variety (terrifying Kamikaze fighters, tactical ambush attacks, Banzai charges, and precise cover tactics), which can all be experienced with your friends thanks to a four-player cooperative campaign. The game also includes a skill-based competitive multiplayer mode which has infantry action as well as vehicle-based carnage, together with a higher level cap, authentic World War II weapons, all kinds of new Perks, new maps, and much more!

The enemies that you're facing in the single-player campaign will stop at nothing to defend their homelands. Beware of swamp ambushes and snipers that are hiding among the trees. Assume the role of a U.S. Marine and a Russian conscript and join them as they go through hell in various Pacific and European locations. Take on the Imperial Japanese soldiers that possess an iron will and take down incredibly skilled German soldiers in action that will make blood rush through your veins. The Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare engine shows just how much it brings to the table as it is used by Call of Duty: World at War to show stunning character models, self-shadowing, spectacular special effects, and much more. The game has spectacular visuals, and there is a Zombie mode that you can play by yourself or with your friends where you get to take down undead Nazis!

A still from Lamia's talk, via DICE's official stream. Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia almost canceled Call of Duty: World at War's zombie mode, which was easily one of the best recent additions to the series. Work on zombies was initially started by a "creatively restless" team, said Lamia during his DICE talk this morning. The work was "unapproved, unplanned, and unscheduled," and "clearly off brand," but when Lamia was called to cancel the mode and direct the dev...
