Dark Souls III is an action RPG, the fourth game in the Souls series. It was developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game first released in Japan in March 2016 and then it released worldwide in April 2016.

Like the previous games, Dark Souls III is also an action role-playing game that is played from the third-person perspective. Players in the game can use all kinds of weapons to battle their enemies, from bows to throwable weapons to swords. Shields can also be used in the game, but not as weapons, rather as secondary equipment which you can use to protect yourself from incoming damage, such as melee attacks and projectiles. Each weapon in the game has a normal attack and a more powerful version that can be charged up. Besides the shields, players can also use dodge-rolling to escape any form of incoming damage.

Bonfires that you find in Dark Souls III are used as checkpoints. Magic is also featured in the game and it uses the "focus points" system that was shown in Demon Souls. There are two types of Estus Flasks in the game as well, one that fills up your health pool and the other that restores your focus points.

Combat is also much more fluid in this game, with certain actions being much quicker than in previous games. Certain types of player movement like swinging heavy weapons and backstepping can now be done much quicker which greatly increases the flow of combat.

Spoiler warnings for Mass Effect 2. I'm not sure why I liked Kelly Chambers so much. There's definitely more exciting characters in Mass Effect 2. She was just cool is all. They seemed so good together, her and my Shepherd, two straight-talking women on a ship full of neverending melodrama, quipping back and forth along the bridge. But I was trapped in a loveless relationship with the odiously boring Kaidan Alenko. So Kelly remained elusive: the steadfast second in command, a constant source o...

Koch Media's brand-new publishing label Prime Matter and developer GoldKnights have just unveiled a new third-person action-RPG on the way next year at tonight's Summer Game Fest extravaganza. The game will be a medieval-sci-fi mashup that looks set to appeal to Dark Souls and rat games fans alike. The Last Oricru is, like any great RPG game, about choices and consequences at its core. Set in a fantasy medieval realm, the game sees the player character awaken from a kind of cryogenic sleep to fi...

In the real world, doors are rarely a remarkable thing. Most of them are downright confusing—do you push? Do you pull?—and these days the last thing I want to do is touch a handle that's been fondled by hundreds of germ-ridden hands. At worst, doors are an annoying obstacle and, at best, a two-inch protective barrier between you and the outside world. But in videogames, doors are magical... Read more.

The announcement of an Indiana Jones game in development from Nazi-whooping enthusiasts Machine Games, plus several new Star Wars games from EA and Ubisoft is pretty darn exciting. However, there's a lot more to the '80s than Harrison Ford-fronted action movies. While we've already seen some of the biggest films of the leg warmer decade adapted into games, they're often pretty poor, and there's still a huge catalogue of '80s movies that haven't had their most sincere and heartwarming moments gut...

Loved every moment of Dark Souls III. It ends the trilogy on a pretty good, if not near-perfect note.
