Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is an action-adventure game made by the same brilliant minds that created games like DmC: Devil May Cry, Heavenly Sword, and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. This title was developed and published by Ninja Theory for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 4 on 8th of August, 2017.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is a deep and disturbing experience that showcases just how haunting schizophrenia truly is. We join Senua as she goes on her journey through the underworld to fight for the soul of her loved one. The game is deeply inspired by both Celtic and Norse mythology. This underworld that you're exploring is vivid, terrifying, and mindnumbing. Players will constantly hear voices and hallucinate as they dig deeper into the broken and tortured psyche of Senua that created the very grim hellhole that she is currently exploring. Her mind is the birthplace of all of the eerie horrors that plague her constantly.

Myth, madness, fear, and horror all collide in this terrific psychological game set in an ancient Viking age. Insanity takes its toll on Senua and the players will feel that as well as they play this game more. But, Senua is a proud Celtic warrior that will stop at nothing to save her loved one. No matter what shadows and devils lurk in the back of her mind, she will not rest until she has fulfilled her task. Survive and fight through all kinds of vigorous environments as you continue your quest through Viking Hell.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is a truly unique gaming experience that you won't find anywhere else. Experience what true psychosis looks like and how it twists and bends a person's mind in this absolutely genius psychological adventure/horror game.

After watching the trailer a bajillion more times, I am extremely excited for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It’s been around 48 hours since the announcement and I cannot possibly retain this state for much longer. By the time the Christmas-ish release date rolls around I will either have exploded like a poor little meat balloon, or gone full circle and lapsed into a coma. Like the engines of the Enterprise, she cannae hold – definitely not for around six more months, anyway. Thank god...

Hellblade and Enslaved developer Ninja Theory has yet another new game in the works - Project: Mara. Announced in a brief blog post today, the game is described as an "experimental title that explores new ways of storytelling". It will be a "real-world and grounded representation of mental terror", as opposed to Hellblade's historical fantasy setting. And that's pretty much all the information we have on the project, one of four now in the works at the Microsoft-owned studio. Read more

Like a heavily-sponsored Santa Claus, the Game Awards swept in last night and left us a pile of presents to unwrap. If you did the smart thing and slept through the event, you’ll have missed a bunch of new announcements. Alice O and Graham did some amazing work in writing up as much as they could as it happened, but a few sly games snuck past ’em. Plus, sometimes it’s just nice to have everything all in once place. Here’s everything that was announced. (more…) ...

Microsoft tonight announced Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, a sequel to 2017’s striking and spooky Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. The trailer looks real chuffing spiffy, which is probably because it’s running on Microsoft’s next console, the ha-ha-hilariously-named Xbox Series X. Apparently Senua is a big enough deal for Microsoft to make it the game announced alongside their next system’s (daft) name. Neat. Here, have a look in the trailer below. (more…)...

Microsoft unveiled a new Xbox at The Game Awards tonight, the Xbox Series X, and to go with it, a brand new game from Ninja Theory: Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2. The trailer doesn't reveal much about the game, but it appears as though it won't stray too far from its roots. Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice told the tale of a Celtic warrior battling Viking-esque undead in a dark and gloomy world, but it also took on the challenge of portraying mental health struggles in a sensitive an...
