Red Faction: Guerrilla is a chaotic action shooter where you get to engage in thrilling combat in an enormous open-world with destructible environments and a complex physics engine. Annihilate buildings, bring them down on your enemies, blow everything and everyone up whenever you can, the world of Red Faction: Guerrilla is your playground.

There is no one in the game to tell you what you need to do. You’re your own boss, so use all the amazing weapons and modified vehicles to cause utter chaos in the world, and there is no one that can stop you. Take advantage of explosives and lure your enemies into a trap, then send them into a hellish inferno when they take the bait. Or, you can utilize a stealthier approach, and slowly take out all of your enemies without them realizing what hit them. Need an escape route? Caught up in a sticky situation? No problem, just blow a hole through the wall and walk out. The destructible environment is your best friend which you can use for both offense and defense.

The Re-Mars-Tered Edition brings fully reworked graphics which feature reworked textures and various graphics features. Shadow rendering and Lighting have both been massively improved. The shader and postprocessing have been redone, and native 4K has been added to the game to bring you the most beautiful scenes of destruction possible.

Key Features

Open World Guerrilla Warfare - You decide who, when, where and how to battle. Utilize guerrilla tactics, improvised weaponry, and modified vehicles to lead insurgent attacks on EDF targets. Launch attacks based on your own gameplay style, take on missions in any order you choose, or engage in destructive activities to weaken the EDF's grip on Mars.

Strategic Destruction - Use destruction to your tactical advantage, setting ambushes or chain reaction explosions to attack enemy strongholds and permanently modify the game environment. Leverage fully-dynamic physics-based destruction to improvise on the fly: blow holes in a wall or floor to set an ambush or escape, take out a staircase to stop your pursuers, or drive vehicles through blown out walls.

Evolving & Emergent Gameplay - Carve your path through an ever changing landscape as you improvise your combat tactics - mixing gameplay styles, vehicles, weapons and explosives to defeat the EDF.

Epic Sci-Fi Setting - Explore the huge, unforgiving Martian landscape, from the desolate mining outpost of Parker to the gleaming EDF capital city of Eos; then tear through the fully destructible open-world environments swarming with EDF forces, Red Faction resistance fighters, and the downtrodden settlers caught in the cross-fire.
Multiplayer Combat - There is no place to hide when you put your guerrilla warfare skills to the test in a variety of highly destructive multiplayer combat modes.

For a double-A game, a Switch port of Red Faction Guerrilla is pretty ambitious stuff. This release was always a physics showcase - to the point where we used the Xbox One X remaster as a point of comparison against Microsoft's destruction-driven multiplayer Crackdown 3. The original last-gen release pushed the Xbox 360's 3.2GHz PowerPC cores hard and we suspect the key challenge here was in making that physics system work effectively on just three 1GHz ARM Cortex A57s. Surprisingly though, this...

If you want a shooter game where you can destroy almost everything, and you are rewarded for this than this is the game for you. The destroying of buildings is the main mechanic that separates this game from a generic shooter. It is a fun game for a while, the world being a sandbox that you can mess with it in many ways. For me, the game had a kind of weak story and a week AI, things that made the game very repetitive after a while. so this is why I wouldn't recommend it to everyone. But for a low price, it is a good game to buy, even for a couple of hours of mayhem fun.
