Total War: WARHAMMER II - Rise of the Tomb Kings is a DLC pack developed by Creative Assembly and published by Sega on January 23rd, 2018.

The vast deserts of Nehekahra lie untouched and unbothered. But, skeletal clicks are heard as the unliving warriors rise from their tombs and start their march against those that are trespassing on their territory. These scorching lands of sand and death are the realm of kings. This is the Land of the Dead, the domain of powerful mummified kings that will forever rule even in their unlife.

A long time ago, this land housed the grand ancient kingdom of Nehekhara, which was the jewel of human civilization. Their cities were huge and prosperous, their armies mighty and capable of conquering any and all that opposed them. Their rulers stood out as gods amongst men. But, the vile sorcery of the vilified Nagash desecrated this realm, and so all living souls were wiped out, and the dead started to walk.

The Total War: Warhammer II - Rise of the Tomb Kings DLC allows you to play the Tomb Kings race in the Eye of the Vortex campaign, but their objective isn't to influence the vortex in any way. The Tomb Kings have only one objective, and that is the acquirement of the nine cursed Books of Nagash. This search ends in one spectacular battle at the Black Pyramid of Nagash. Finding these books gives you a special campaign bonus and puts you one step closer to ultimate victory.

Total War: WARHAMMER II - Rise of the Tomb Kings brings the new Tomb Kings Race and their special mechanics inspired by the vivid Tomb Kings lore, 4 new playable Legendary Lords (Settra the Imperishable, High Queen Khalida, Grand Hierophant Khatep and Arkhan the Black), the Nehekharan Dynasties which you can explore in order to wake powerful old rulers, the infamous Legends of Legends which can be raised at the occult Mortuary Cult, and more.

Last week, after much hype and excitement, Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 2080 graphics card was finally unleashed on the world. Today, it’s the turn of its beefed-up big brother, the RTX 2080Ti, whose release was delayed by a week for reasons lost to the bowels of Nvidia’s marketing department. As you can see from my Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080Ti review, this is hands down the best graphics card for 4K I’ve ever seen, and that’s all down to the monstrous power of Nvidia’...

Aw MAN! Just when I’d started up a great new running gag for the appearance of GTA V in the charts, this week it’s fallen out! And Divinity: Original Sin 2 has finally failed to make the grade for the first time this year. However, you’ll be relieved to learn CS:GO and Plunkles don’t let us down and wearily continue their infinite reigns. Meantime, there’s quite a nice mixture of fresh and more recently popular scattered within. (more…)

I know I can’t be the first to say this, but this is the first chance I’ve had to moan about it and you can’t stop me. Why oh why is Total War: Warhammer 2 not just called ‘Total Warhammer 2’? As far as I’m concerned, consistent branding can get in the bin when there’s an opportunity that good. Oh yes, the news: Total Warhammer 2’s first expansion is out today. As Fraser Brown will tell you in his Rise of the Tomb Kings review, those disgusting mum...

The big news on the Total War: Warhammer II scene next week is the launch of its first expansion, Rise of the Tomb Kings (read our review of it), but there’s good news for an older faction too. Recognising that Bretonnia were a little left out when others were powered up for Twarhammer 2, developers Creative Assembly are buffing the fantasy Frenglishmen in the update launching alongside Tomb Kings. They’ll receive new tech and abilities, including tools to better combat the sequel...

I can sympathise, at least a little, with the ancient Egyptian-themed undead known as the Tomb Kings, and who are Total War: Warhammer 2 s newest faction. A decade ago, I was trapped underneath the Great Pyramid of Giza for a mere 20 minutes while another tourist had a claustrophobia-induced panic attack. Waking up inside a pyramid and discovering that your innards are full of embalming fluid and you have only rags to hide your desiccated shame would, I imagine, be a little bit more unpleasant. ...
