Final Fantasy XV PC Specs a ‘Mistake’

Square Enix sprung a surprise on us this week at Gamescom, by revealing that Final Fantasy XV will be coming to PC, having previously released on Xbox One and PS4.

This would have been welcome news on the surface for PC players, until fear struck when a press release claimed that this version of the game would require a whopping 170 GB of free space. Since then, game director Hajime Tabata has confirmed that this was actually a mistake in a recent interview, stating: “That was a mistake, actually. That was a communications mistake– something got put in a memo that really shouldn’t have. What that is [the specifications that went out to press] based on the specs that we’re running the demo on today.”

Just what the final specifications are for Final Fantasy XV on PC are is still unknown. Tabata did claim that the specs may change between now and the game’s launch in early 2018, so we may not hear what they are for a while yet. Square Enix has stated that it will be taking advantage of several Nvidia graphics features, which will help create what they describe as “more immersive than ever before” for Final Fantasy XV on PC.

Final Fantasy XV saw the series return to the single player aspect that made the franchise so popular, having focused predominantly online for Final Fantasy XIV.
