Bethesda Could Be Working on A Game of Thrones Title

Game of Thrones and video games seem like a match made in heaven, yet there has been surprisingly few titles based around the fantasy epic.

However, it seems as though Bethesda may have leaked a potential project based around the novel turned show, which was recently spotted on NeoGaf with a listing labeled “Bethesda: Game of Thrones.” Whilst it is just a rumor at this stage, we do know that Bethesda are currently working on two unannounced products, so there’s a good chance that this is one of them.

Gamers who are fans of the franchise aren’t going completely without, however. The second season of the Telltale game is in the works, as well as a web browser MMO from the good folks over at Bigpoint and Artplant, which was revealed way back in 2012, though neither have a release date as of yet. Cyanide Studio also offered up an action RPG based on Game of Thrones game five years ago, though nothing of this kind has been seen since.

Given the TV show’s current status of drawing to a close with the next season being the last, it would be easy to see why a new game would rear it’s head at this stage. It could even be announced following the season finale at some point to keep fans gripped to the series.

One thing is for sure, that having Bethesda behind the game could make things very interesting with their experience with the likes of The Elder Scrolls franchise and other open world products that have been released to critical acclaim.
