Fortnite Battle Royale Map Adds Three New Areas

Fortnite’s surge to stardom is alive and well, having just topped 50 million players. The game has now released an update with version V.2.2.0, which proves to be a significant one by introducing the long-awaited update for the map in Battle Royale.

From now on, players will be able to find three new areas, which can be found on the left hand side of the map, which includes places such as Junk Junction, Shifty Shafts and Tilted Towers. As well as these new areas, there is also a number of other new additions to the map, such as the extension of voice chat to the pre-game lobby, thereby allowing squads and duos formulate a plan before starting the game.

You may have also noticed that friendly fire has been taken off, though it might not be a permanent fix according to Epic: “This is exploratory and subject to change. We will be closely evaluating this and want your feedback!”

You can also expect to see rebalances and tuning made to weapons, as well as bug fixes and changes to certain animations.

Fortnite is now available on PC, Xbox and PS4, with the popular battle royale mode being available free of charge.
