You Won’t Get Nuked Often In Fallout 76

A lot of us got really worried when we found out that our bases could get nuked in Fallout 76 by other players. You know, PvP is great and all, but when you manage to build a really cool fort with defenses and everything, you don’t want to lose it easily. But, how will you defend against a nuclear missile? You can’t, but Pete Hines made sure that we don’t stress about that too much, as getting ahold of nuclear missile codes won’t be as easy as we think, so our bases won’t get nuked as much as some of us thought.

Fallout 76

Pete Hines did an interview with some people, and to be precise, he talked about with the Swedish games site called FZ, and the topic was the nukes which can be fired by players. As we already know, the only other humans that you can find the Fallout 76 are other players, and while some will be friendly, others will be hostile. The hostile ones represent a real danger, as there are ways for them to hit your place with a nuke, which as you can imagine, causes a lot of damage. But, we don’t need to stress about it too much, as Pete Hines said this:

“Getting the ability to launch a nuke is not easy,”

“You have to get a number of different code pieces so you have one full code. You also have to get to the place where you enter that code, which is obviously not just ‘open the doors and walk right in.’ Then you target a place on the map. You can’t target an individual.

This is great news, as we were most worried about this feature in this online survival title. We still have to wait for the game to launch to see just hard it is going to be to obtain these codes, but we trust in Bethesda to keep it balanced.
