The Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer Project Won’t Be A Standalone Title

Due to CDPR’s horrible blunder with its latest RPG, it seems that the Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer experience won’t be a standalone title.

CD Projekt RED really messed everything up with Cyberpunk. The fans lost their respect for the Polish dev, the stockholders are slowly backing out, and due to their crunch-dependant nature, their public image is also tarnished.

But, they’ve got a shot at redemption. Cyberpunk got a huge patch a couple of days ago that brought 505 fixes to the game. That’s a start, a good one, so they only need to follow up with more support like that. As long as the devs keep patching nd updating the game, it will all turn out fine.

Yet, this whole Cyberpunk ordeal definitely affected the company as a whole. A recent video showcased their new approach to making games, marketing them, and stuff like that.

A new systematic, agile approach to game development replaced their old ways it seems. The secret Cyberpunk 2077 standalone multiplayer project isn’t happening. At least not in the way it was originally planned. Instead, the team wants to introduce online elements to all franchises where it makes sense. Not sure what that means but instead of a standalone multiplayer experience we’re probably getting an add-on or a DLC that brings a multiplayer segment into the game.
