Anthem Demo Gets Some Details From Bioware

2019 is aiming to be another spectacular year in video gaming, and one that could rival 2017 in terms of number of big name titles coming out in the year. But for RPG fans, they’re really looking forward to the title Anthem from Bioware. This is their first new IP in some time, and it’s unlike anything they’ve done with Mass Effect and Dragon Age. It’s more focused on multiplayer aspects (but with a complete singleplayer campaign) as well as more open-world exploration than ever before.

Given the grand scale and scope of the title, it’s not surprising that they’re going to be releasing a demo to give players a look into the game. Not to mention, it’ll provide Bioware with some feedback that’ll allow them to perfect the game more before it comes out in February.

But, details have been a little light on the demo, that is, until Michael Gamble of Bioware went onto Twitter to reveal some details to those who asked about it.

Anthem

First up, the game’s demo, you’ll only be allowed to level up to around 10-15, and furthermore, your data in the demo won’t be able to transfer over. There are likely several reasons for this. Including that the game won’t be done at this point, and things could still change before its release.

Another fan asked whether the Anthem demo will have open-world sections, or just hand-picked areas to play in. Gamble noted that “some freeplay” will happen, but for the most part:

A good cross section of stuff. Missions, a stronghold, some Tarsis, some freeplay. Start Level 10. No progress carried into release.

So in conclusion, it seems like a standard demo, but one that will give a good look into how Anthem plays. And since you will be allowed to level up and everything, it means that you’ll likely be playing for several hours before it’s done. The game itself releases on February 22nd.

  1. Turtle says

in your post you say ” you’ll only be allowed to level up to around 10-15″

Yet the quote from the dev then says “Start Level 10″….

Do you not actually bother to read the info before pasting the information?

Plus you didn’t even bother to add the fact the demo is from Feb 1-3.

    Lazy.

Fire this dude and I’ll do his job for half the price but double the competence.
