Star Wars Battlefront II Update Coming Tomorrow

Star Wars Battlefront II has been working overtime since launch to earn the good graces of its player base. The game was a highly anticipated title until players found out about the hard progression system (which would take a year to get all the items within the game) and the focus on microtransactions (which essentially made the game pay-to-win). EA and DICE have made steps to try and right these issues, but it hasn’t been easy, so now, every update and patch counts.

One that has been teased for some time is patch 2.1. It’s set to bring in a new mode via Jetpack Cargo, as well as some other fixes. However, a date for its release was never set, until now. The patch will launch tomorrow, on the 19th. It’ll release first for PC, then PS4, then Xbox One. So be mindful of that when you hear about others doing it but you’re not able to do it quite yet.

Now, aside from the arrival of Jetpack Cargo, there will be updates to the Arcade Mode, there will be balances to the Hero characters, as well as to the Class Characters, Reinforcements, and even combat within the game. Finally, there will be some changes to level design and all manor of bug fixes

It should be noted that previous previews of the patch revealed that some of the more significant issues in Battlefront II won’t be fixed in this patch, but they are being worked on now.

It’s certainly going to be a worthy patch, and the arrival of Jetpack Cargo will hopefully be the first of many new gameplay modes that come to the title. However, there are still some question marks about what the game will be like in the future. EA is planning to bring back the microtransaction system in March, as well as overhaul the progression system. How that’ll affect the game long-term remains up in the air.
