Crossout Gets A Battle Royale Mode

Oh boy, isn’t this something that every game is doing at the moment, and that is adding a battle royal mode. The absolutely critical success of Fortnite is making a lot of game developers jealous it seems, as now it seems like absolutely everything is about trying to mimic its success. The developers of Crossout, a post-apocalyptic MMO where you get to create awesome vehicles and use them to destroy other awesome vehicles, are also adding a battle royal mode to their game.

When will the battle royal hype die out? Not anytime soon, if we were to judge by the attention that’s being attracted by games like Fortnite and PUBG, but maybe other games will at least stop trying to leach off of their success with their own attempts at making a battle royal mode. This will also not be the case, as everyone knows that this mode is really popular with gamers right now, and so everyone wants a piece of that juicy cake that’s known as profit. Crossout’s new mode puts you in a pre-crafted car, so you don’t even get the usual freedom of creating your own badass vehicle, and then you have to go look for things like weapons and modules so that you can defend yourself from your enemies on the new Blood Rocks map. 32 players will drive around the place and try to kill each other to win first place, which is standard for this type of mode.

The players aren’t really too happy about this addition to the game, as you can see from the comments on their Guide for the Battle Royal video, which is understandable as the core game has nothing to do with that mode and isn’t like it at all, so naturally when new content arrives they want the base game expanded, not a new mode that copies the latest popular trend in gaming.
