Destiny 2 Update Unlocks Content For Non-DLC Owners

It appears that Bungie are making further efforts to bring more content to Destiny 2 for those who don’t own the game’s DLC. The latest update to land in the game on Xbox One, PS4 and PC will be taking a break from focusing on bugs and other conventional means from regular updates to bring more access to content for those who haven’t purchased Curse of Osiris.

Hotfix update 1.1.1.2 is now available following recent server maintenance, and showcases Bungie’s intentions to expand on both Iron Banner and Faction Rally, which had previously been inaccessible to non-DLC owners following the release of Curse of Osiris. The summary of the patch notes basically states that everyone will now have access to the two events.

The recent changes were initially teased by community manager David Dague, who stated they were coming as part of the new update. Originally, the recent Faction Rally event was supposed to take place last month, as part of the game’s Season 2 to accompany Curse of Osiris. However, once players learned of the content being hidden behind a paywall, they understandably lashed out, causing Bungie to cancel the event, in order “to ensure all of our players can access the activity and the appropriate rewards.”

Destiny 2 is now available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
