Junkrat To Be Reworked in Overwatch

Given the game’s popularity and its extensive roster, its no surprise to see that many fans come forward with suggestions on how to improve the character’s in Overwatch.

In this instance, a post by GreyFalcon on the official Overwatch Forums has outlined ways to improve Junkrat in particular. The stats posted included reducing the Concussion Mine damage to 90 and reducing cooldown to four seconds, whilst increasing the damage of the Junkrat Trap to 110. These changes would result in 200 damage collectively with both the Trap and Mine, or 210 damage with the Grenade and Mine. This essentially will make the Trap far more effective, with more suggested improvements which will enhance the character’s overall mobility and survival rate.

This was responded to by principal designer Geoff Goodman, who stated that the player’s suggestions were along the right lines of what they intend to do with Junkrat: “This is pretty close to what we’re trying with him, and what will likely be on the PTR when it comes back up. Currently on our internal builds Junkrat has 2 charges of his Concussion Mine. This allows you to do all kinds of cool stuff like launch yourself into a fight and still have a charge to escape with, or launch yourself up into a Pharah and still have a charge to try and kill her with.”

Blizzard will also look at improvement Junkrat’s ultimate better, which will take some time in order to experiment with the movement speed or increase of health.
