New Savage Map In PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Can Be Tested Now

One of the major complaints against PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is that although it’s got rather large maps, it doesn’t have a great volume of them. So, it’s reasonable to think that the team at Bluehole were working on fixing that problem, and they have. For starting today, testing of a brand new map in the game will begin. The map is codenamed “Savage”, likely because of the terrain. Keys are set to be handed out today and then the test itself will begin.

As the team notes, this is actually something quite special in regards to testing, as this hasn’t been done like this in a while:

“We promised you that you would get a chance to try the new map very early on and we are delivering on that promise,” the team said in a statement. “We haven’t released content so early in its development since our alpha testing stage. We’re doing this because we want to start getting your feedback as soon as possible and drive the development in the right direction.”

While this may not have been done in a while for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, it is something that is tied deep into the framework of the game itself. After all, the game was basically born on Steam Early Access, and through its numerous testings has grown into the title it is today. A very profitable title, mind you.

Now, if you’re wanting to get into the testing process for this, it’s still possible, however, this test is solely for PC players who have bought the Steam version of the game. So if you’re an Xbox One owner of the game, you’re sadly out of luck.

The test itself shall begin today and go until April 5th, but something tells us that there will be another test or two before the true release of the map.
