Anthem was and still is a complete failure of a game, and certain rumors suggest that BioWare is completely overhauling the entire game.
Anthem is an online shooter, a live-service game. A game that had a messy launch, boring missions, horrible loot distribution, lots of bugs, and a lack of required support. Therefore, players quickly abandoned it. Then, certain key members of the Anthem development team left BioWare. Problems just kept on adding up. The core systems are lacking, certain “grand” updates that were promised were quite lackluster, and slowly but surely, the Anthem playerbase dwindled. BioWare, thankfully, didn’t just give up on the game. On the contrary, this Kotaku article says the devs are planning on doing a complete overhaul. Will that be a series of important updates or one giant update, it’s not yet known.
Can they make the missions intriguing and fun? Will the looting part of the game actually feel exciting? What will they do to make the NPCs feel like people and not bland robots? These questions won’t be answered in quite a bit I’m thinking. This is a huge undertaking, one that BioWare can’t mess up.
Many video games out there went through this process. The most notable one being No Man’s Sky. A game which as only 20% of what it should have been. But with updates, it is now an excellent experience for anyone that likes space and exploration.
Maybe BioWare can’t redeem Anthem. However, it can’t hurt to try. Whatever the case may be, the game has a lot of potential. Now, if you’re looking to try the game, here’s a suggestion. Buy an Anthem PC game key on HRK Game and get it for a hugely discounted price right now!
