Steel Division 2 Has Been Announced

Steel Division 2 has been announced, and it’s a sequel to the real-time strategy from 2017 called Steel Division: Normandy 44. The sequel is also a real-time strategy, and it is going to show us how war looked like in the Eastern Front.

Steel Division 2

The Eastern Front will feature Dynamic Strategic Campaigns which will be highly replayable. In a real-time strategy game, you want to have as much replayability as you can get, and this time we will be participating in Operation Bagration. This Soviet operation broke through the German line, eventually reaching even Warsaw. Steel Division 2 came earlier than we expected, and in the comments section of the announcement trailer, most of the players are asking for a new Wargame title.

There are 25 maps in the game, 600 and more units, revamped combat, and an updated engine. From the looks of it, this may be quite a solid World War II real-time strategy. The turns in the game are half a day, so there’s plenty of time for players to formulate their plans, manage their army, and safeguard their supply lines from the enemy. Steel Division: Normandy 44 was a rather splendid game, but it wasn’t too popular with the fans that are asking for a new Wargame title once again. Since Eugen Systems are publishing the game themselves, it could be a massive problem if Steel Division 2 ends up being a flop.

We hope it doesn’t come to that, as a massive failure such as that could cost the company everything. Steel Division 2 doesn’t have a release date yet, so stay tuned for more news.
