Call Of Duty: WWII On Top Of UK Charts For 5th Week

Gaming isn’t just about making great games (or even decent ones), it’s about making sure your game sells. Not just in your home country mind you (though that would be nice), but also all over the world. For the world plays a big part in how well games do, and if you can do well in certain areas, you know you’re doing something right. What might surprise gamers though is how well one game is doing in the United Kingdom. As Call of Duty: WWII has just tied a record in the country.

VGChartz reports that the recently released shooter in the legendary franchise has been on top of the UK sales charts for five weeks now. That’s very impressive. The record for this year is five weeks, and that was set earlier in the year by Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy (I know, right?), so if it goes into next week without dropping, it could hold the record for itself. Which no doubt will make Sledgehammer Games very happy.

Call Of Duty: WWII

This comes after news that Call of Duty: WWII outsold the previous entry in the series, Infinite Warfare, on Steam in only a couple of weeks, no small feat. And while no official sales numbers are out yet, it’s clear the game has sold several million copies. Which, given the popularity of the series, isn’t a surprise.

That’s not to say there hasn’t been problems though. There have been issues with the game, including the Headquarters mode, which was only recently fixed. Gameplay issues have also been reported, but again, have been or are being fixed.

One of the biggest things coming though is Ranked Play, which will truly put players against one another to see who is the best.

Either way you look at it, Call of Duty: WWII is doing very well, and looks to be continuing that with each improvement.
