Assassin’s Creed Origins Wins “Best Open World Game” Award From PC Gamer

When it was revealed, Assassin’s Creed was something truly special. For while video games had done assassin characters before, there was something about this one that was truly amazing. It may have been the open-world that Ubisoft crafted for it, or the ability to go and climb pretty much anything. Or maybe, it was the combat system, which had you actually thinking about how you fought opponents. Either way, it was great, and Ubisoft tried to replicate that. But they stumbled at times, making the need for Assassin’s Creed Origins to be special all the more important.

For you see, after a while, the games became a bit repetitive, the new features weren’t panning out, and the story was getting more and more convoluted with each title. Things needed a change. So, after Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Ubisoft revealed they were taking a few years to make the next title, which was indeed Assassin’s Creed Origins. And the results speak for themselves. For not only was it a big hit with fans and critics, it’s winning some awards. Including “Best Open World Game” from PC Gamer.

“The splendor of Origins’ Egypt, however, and the staggering breadth of its world, is enough to overcome the limitations of this kind of design.” said Chris Livingston of PC Gamer

The team praised just how full of life Egypt is in this game, allowing players to truly do what they want, all the while making sure they’re able to take the task ahead of them. One of them even notes that it’s hard to compare the game to its predecessors because they don’t have anything near this kind of variety.

“Fly over the realm with your eagle and you see deserts, farms, mountains, and Egypt’s extraordinary historical monuments scattered across the horizon.”  says Tom Senior

Well, Ubisoft will no doubt be appreciative of this, and hopefully, this will be a sign of what they need to do for the next Assassin’s Creed game.
