Bethesda Wants Crossplay In Fallout 76

Is crossplay the future of gaming? Maybe, it probably is, and it seems like a lot more companies are open to this feature. Some, on the other hand, aren’t that fond of the idea. Bethesda wants crossplay for their upcoming online survival Fallout spinoff, Fallout 76, but Sony has proved time and time again that they aren’t willing to cooperate. If this continues on as we go on, sooner or later, this kind of thing will affect the PlayStation users negatively, as more and more platforms will offer cross-platform play while the newest Sony platform won’t.

Fallout 76

We learned many times in the past that you need to keep up with the trend in order to stay alive. This is especially important in industries where kids and young adults dominate the demographic. You see, in gaming, you have a lot of kids and teenagers, so naturally, you have to appeal to their taste so that they keep using your product. Now, everyone can’t afford a really powerful PC, but they can save up money for a used Xbox One or PlayStation 4. Crossplay is important right now, and Bethesda knows that and wants that feature in Fallout 76, but Sony isn’t all too open about that.

Todd Howard spoke with GameStar.de and said: You cannot do crossplay in 76. We’d really love that but right now we can’t. Sony is not as helpful as everyone would like.”, which is quite sad. Sony needs to ride the wave instead of going against it and start dabbling with crossplay.
