Both Fortnite and PUBG started their own campaigns on the mobile platforms. When you have a shooter that’s blowing up this quickly, you want it available on all platforms as soon as possible. Now, while there are a lot of gamers that want these games on their phones, you also have regular people playing these as well. That means that someone who isn’t familiar with things such as fake games won’t recognize a fake Fortnite app. According to VG247, the Android platform is absolutely filled with fake versions of the game that contain malware, spyware, and adware.

As you can imagine, downloading malware, spyware, and adware on your phone isn’t exactly recommended. They ask for your permission when you install them, but you don’t know what you’re agreeing to. Someone that is familiar with these things will notice right away. But, what happens when a kid downloads a fake app that gets access to his phone? Well, it can get real bad.

People often don’t notice that they’re downloading a fake version of the app. Why? Well because it also uses the game’s official art and pictures. But, when the app asks for permission to use the camera, or the call data, you know that you’re dealing with a fake. The real Fortnite app doesn’t ask for such things, so keep that in mind.
