Bungie Issues Update Regarding Destiny 2 PC Bans

There have been many twists in the story of the Destiny 2 players that were recently banned from seemingly no reason whilst playing the game on PC.

At first, the bans seem to have been put in place over the use of third-party software and Discord overlays, thought this rumbling was put to bed by Bungie, who confirmed that those being banned aren’t being done so for this particular practice.

Earlier in the year, Bungie had confirmed that the use of game capture software and overlays wouldn’t result in bans, though it could affect the overall gameplay and how efficiently it runs. This left many players in the dark as to why they have been banned, and with Battle.net updating their support page to state that it was down to Bungie to solve the issue more or less, people were still none the wiser.

Bungie has now stated the following in a recent update: “Bans were applied to players who were using tools that pose a threat to the shared ecosystem of the game”

So in other words pretty much, if you’ve been banned, it’s because you have been using something that has caused threat to the game. Around 400 players have been banned on the PC version, and it doesn’t look like these restrictions will be lifted.
