Citadel: Forged with Fire Getting Server Wipes

When you support a game that is in closed beta or in Early Access, you can never be surprised by a server wipe. Well, that still didn’t stop the Citadel: Forged with Fire players from getting sad, as they are soon going to be hit with server wipes, but it is all in the name of new content! Yes, everything you built and crafted in this magical sandbox RPG is going to disappear, so you have every right to be sad, but at least be happy for all the new features that are coming like farming, spell crafting, an overhaul of the menu and HUD, cooking, and more.

The upcoming features also include a rebalance of the player progression, so you know why they had to do a server wipe. You can’t add this many features and just implement them without any problems. A clean slate is needed, as well as an even playing field, but now your experience with Citadel: Forged with Fire will be much richer and more enjoyable with these new features. But, they did say this in their official Steam post:

To ease this transition, and to ensure that we don’t alienate our existing, long-devoted Citadel player base, we will be taking steps to preserve our top 10 currently most active servers. Though they will still get the new balance and progression changes, all structures and player progress will be maintained. These servers will be relabeled as “Legacy” servers to ensure that new players understand that the players in this world have begun with a significant advantage, and that they should consider starting their adventure elsewhere.

Saving these 10 servers was really nice of the developers, as not many would do this, but even they must know how soul-crushing it would be for the players of those servers to lose everything they made.
