Controversial Image Removed From Batman: The Enemy Within

Earlier this year, we saw the release of Batman: The Enemy Within from Telltale Games, serving as a follow up from the first Telltale series. Following the arrival of the second episode, which released this week, a real life image of an assassinated Russian ambassador seemingly appeared to feature within.

Russian ambassador to Turkey, Andrei Karlov, was assassinated at an opening of an art gallery in December last year, being shot a point blank range whilst giving a speech. Following the incident, graphic images surfaced, one of which looks to be featured in The Enemy Within. It isn’t actually Karlov being portrayed in the game, with Karlov being somewhat represented by an assumed dead security guard during a Gotham Brokerage break in.

Telltale has since issued the following statement, after the image above surfaced online: “An update to the game has been submitted this morning that will be removing the image across all platforms,” according to a representative.”We regret this incident occurred, and we are taking appropriate action internally to ensure that we continue to maintain our high standards in Production and Quality Assurance.”

Telltale certainly have been quick to respond to the incident, and are thankfully taking the image down through an update that will see it disappear on all platforms.
