Crackdown 3 Delayed Again? This Time To 2019?

When you’re making video games, it’s going to delay the launch date in order to get the game done and done right. After all, if there’s one thing gamers hate, it’s a rushed out title (*cough* Mass Effect Andromeda *cough). However, that being said, there is a difference between delaying a title, and infinitely delaying a title, or repeatedly delaying a title for long periods of time. Eventually, gamers are going to wonder if the game will ever release. And that’s what’s going through the minds of those wanting to play Crackdown 3.

Crackdown 3 was announced years ago for the Xbox One, and promised to be coming soon, but it didn’t happen. Then, last year, Microsoft showed off a full-on trailer for the game at E3 2017, complete with Terry Crews, but not long after that, it was delayed until 2018. And now, rumors are spreading that the game has been pushed back again to 2019.

Crackdown 3

This rumor comes from Kotaku, who apparently has sources with Sumo Digital, the developers of Crackdown 3, who state that the game has a lot of work left to be done before releasing. To be fair, Microsoft has not confirmed this as of yet, but if it is true, it’s going to be yet another huge blow for both the game and the console.

After all, the game was supposed to be the headlining title for the Xbox One X, which has not sold well since its launch in November of last year. Let alone the fact that the game was first announced in 2014, and might not be coming until 5 years after that announcement.

Another problem is that Xbox One has been really struggling with its 1st party titles, and Crackdown was one franchise that many felt could help stem that tide, now they’re wondering if it’ll ever release.

We’ll have to wait on Microsoft and Sumo Digital though for official word.
