Crash Bandicoot Getting New Game In 2019?

What helps establish video game consoles and their publishers are the video games that are put on it. When Sony launched the PlayStation they made sure that it had games with recognizable characters or created games with new characters that would strike a cord with gamers. One of those games was the Crash Bandicoot series. This platforming title took the world by storm in many ways, and spawned a trilogy and a couple of spinoffs. More recently, the N.Sane trilogy released on PS4 and did really well.

Because of that, many are wondering whether Crash Bandicoot will get a new game. It’s not unreasonable, as it is a simple platforming title (though the N.Sane Trilogy proved it could be incredibly difficult), and all it would take is a dev team and Sony to give the greenlight.

Well, company GB EYE claims now that there is a new title in the series coming out soon after seeing an excerpt in the Licensing Source Book Europe.  But that’s not all they’re saying.

Crash Bandicoot

“The new game was a huge success at retail with no marketing spend. Next year it will be going broader (Switch and PC) and there will be another game in 2019. Activision has a five-year plan for this and GB Eye is delighted to be fully on board for all products.”

That’s a bold claim in many ways, and as such, this is should be deemed a rumor and nothing else at present.

This goes double for the port rumors, as the original games were PlayStation exclusives, as was the N.Sane Trilogy remake, so we find it out that Sony would allow the game to go to its competitors. The other aspect though is completely believable, and fans have asked for a new Crash Bandicoot game for a while now. Until we hear from Sony though, we’ll just have to wait.

You can get the N.Sane Trilogy for PS4 now in stores or on the PlayStation Network.
