Customers Flock for Nintendo Switch Consoles for Splatoon 2

Today’s release of Splatoon 2 has seen many fans in Japan to hit the stores in an attempt to pick up a Nintendo Switch. A high volume of massive queues swept across the country, as brand new Switch consoles, with a Splatoon 2 hardware bundle also releasing. Many headed out to get the game and the accompanying Amiibos, though more seemed to be after the console or the bundle on offer.

This would prove to be an almost impossible task, as lines in Tokyo and many other areas were bombarded with eager customers. Once more, fans were given a raffle ticket, albeit with very slim odds of getting their hands on a console.

In the Labi store in Tokyo’s Ikebukuro, there was roughly 1,500 people waiting. Meanwhile in Ehime Prefeture, 400 people queued up at a Toys “R” Us store, whilst at another saw 500 people line up for a mere 25 Splatoon 2 Switch bundles, and only 10 regular Switch consoles.

Its understandable to see why so many would head out for a copy of the game given the popularity of the first entry. The demand for the console meanwhile continues, as many chase down the new Nintendo Switch despite its frequent short supplies in locations worldwide.
