EA Details How Far Customization Will Go In Battlefield V

Ever since Battlefield V had its reveal trailer, the game has been talked about for many reasons. Naturally, the graphics of the game are a talking point, but also, the fact that female soldiers are being shown in World War II (which didn’t happen), and that certain other “historically inaccurate” elements are visible as well has started a deep conversation about what should and shouldn’t be in a game like this. But for EA and DICE, they’re just trying to make a fun game, and that includes letting you customize your character how you want.

On Twitter recently, the official Battlefield V account posted more details about what players can expect from the customization elements. This one was done in reply to a comment on the subject:

We wanted to empower player choice, diversity and inclusion, so our players can fully customize the way that they want their soldiers look and play. With that, there are a plethora of customization options for your soldiers including body types, gender, war paints and more.

Battlefield V

It’s clear to us that Battlefield V is meant to be more than just “another WWII shooter”. They’re trying to deliver an experience that they honestly haven’t done in a while. One where player fun and enjoyment tops the need to be historically accurate (which they did with Battlefield 1 in many ways) or be the best looking game on the market.

It’s also clear that they’re trying to improve upon mistakes of the past, which is why the game won’t have any microtransactions or DLC content. Rather, there will be free content updates via Rising Tide, which will give all players the same content at the same time without the need to pay for anything.

It’s an inspiring move, and one that we can’t to see in full once the game releases.
