Epic Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition Clash At E3 Between Wrestling Stars

While E3 2018 was the place for big game reveals, demos, and debuts, there were other events going on that helped make the event stand out in the best way possible. One of the biggest ones for wrestlings fans though, was an epic confrontation between two of the most popular factions in the business today. For The New Day from WWE (who host a popular gaming channel on Youtube) and The Elite from Ring of Honor/New Japan (who host a popular reality show on Youtube) met at the event to duke it out in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition.

The battle wasn’t random, as noted, New Day host a gaming show on their Youtube channel, and it’s endorsed by WWE. Meanwhile, the leader of The Elite, Kenny Omega, is a well-known Street Fighter fan, and he was even brought in for a live-action trailer for the game to unveil that Cody Travers was coming back.

You can watch the full match here, it starts at around 5:22.

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition

The first matchup that took place was a 3v3 contest of New Day versus The Elite. They broke up into 1v1 matches, best of 3. Here, the New Day won when Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods beat the Young Bucks in definitive fashion. However, Kenny Omega destroyed Big E in his match. So, after the team defeat, he challenged Woods to a 5-round series. The first to win five rounds would be victorious.

Woods choose to be the ninja Ibuki, while Kenny Omega “broke out the dev kit” so he could play his main Cody Travers. Both of these men were highly skilled, and interestingly enough, it went down to the final match in the final round to determine the winner. But in the end, “The Cleaner” Kenny Omega pulled it out against Woods, proving that he is the superior Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition gamer.

Oh, and Woods had to eat hot peppers because he lost…then Kenny did the same.

Point is, it was a great contest, and hopefully there will be a rematch down the road.
