Fornite Crushing PUBG In Views On Twitch

There are many milestones that video games and their developers strive for. First is sales, for if you don’t have sales, you’re not doing well. But, due to the advancement of technology, there are other avenues you’d want to do well in. For example, Twitch. The streaming service can show how interested gamers are in certain games, and when a lot of them come together to watch those games? It means something. Which is great for Epic Games, as Fortnite is now the most-watched game on Twitch right now.

Improbable? Yeah, pretty much, but it’s true. This comes from FortniteIntel, who revealed that over the last two weeks, Fortnite was watched more than any other game out there, including League of Legends (which usually holds the “most viewed” slot) and Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds.

Focusing just on PUBG for a second, Fornite actually has double the views on Twitch than PUBG does. Think about that for a second.

But the news doesn’t stop there, the viewership for the game has been shooting higher and higher with each passing month. To the point where 152,486 were watching it (on average) during the weekend, that’s very impressive. And PUBG? They had an average of 56,619 this past weekend.

This is the latest major victory that Fortnite has gotten. It has more concurrent players than PUBG, which was at one time very unthinkable given the rocketing that PUBG was doing last year. And yet, here they are.

So, why is Fortnite being viewed so much? It’s hard to say for certain. It might be because the game is a bit more fun to watch, it has different modes that can be watched, or simply that people like it more than they thought they would.

Either way, Epic Games should be proud, for their gamble has paid off in spades.
