God Of War On PS4 Sold 3.1 Million Copies In 3 Days

When it was revealed that God of War was coming to PS4 with a new game, many were excited, but cautious. This only grew when it was reveal that this would be a different kind of title in the franchise, one starring an older Kratos, and not featuring the fast-and-furious gameplay of the original saga. Yet, as more got shown, people really grew intrigued with it, and by the time it released on April 20th last month, the hype was boiling over.

And now, we can confirm via the PlayStation Blog that the game has sold 3.1 million units in its first 3 days. Making it the fastest-selling PS4 game of all time. Meaning it beat big-name titles like Uncharted 4: A Thief’s end and Horizon: Zero Dawn. Needless to say, the head of Santa Monica Studios (who developed God of War) was grateful for gamers supporting the title:

I would like to personally thank the millions of fans around the world who decided to embark on Kratos’ latest adventure with us. Your support is truly inspiring, and it’s a reason why we push ourselves every day to go beyond the boundaries of play.

However, even though the game is doing incredibly well in most aspects, there are still some bugs and glitches that are causing some problems for players. One of them includes trying to start a new game without leaving the game first. The Santa Monica team is looking into it:

We are continuing to investigate an issue where selecting the “New Game” option from the main menu without closing down the application first may result in missing dialogue and possible progression blockers. To avoid this in the meantime, please close down the application before starting a new playthrough.

The team also noted that future updates will include the Photo Mode that’s been teased before, an option to increase text sizes in the game, and a way to remap Rage Mode on the controller.
