Indie Game Fossil Hunters Detailed by Ubisoft

Ubisoft has been running the first-ever Ubisoft Indie Series, which is an annual competition that aims to aid indie development studios bring their games to a larger platform. Reptoid Games’ Fossil Hunters is the first to emerge victorious in this, initially developed by co-founders Ryan Miller and Simon Paquette early last year.

The financial backing from Ubisoft and the Ontario Media Development Corportation gave Reptoid the opportunity to bring new team members onboard, which included a producer, artist and a programmer, as well as Toronto-based musician Robby Duguay. Reptoid has been hard at work for over a year on bringing Fossil Hunters to life, in which players take on the role of a Fossil Hunter starting out, in which they will explore mysterious underground depths and discover the remains of never-before-seen creatures in what looks to be a memorable action-adventure experience.

We’ve been working on Fossil Hunters for over a year now,” says Paquette. “We are finishing the game and releasing in early 2018 either way, but we want to make sure everything is ‘rock solid’ when we do.”

For those who would like to directly support the game, you can do so by heading over to the Fossil Hunters Kickstarter campaign that is now running.
