A strange tweet by Ubisoft could be hinting at a new Splinter Cell title, or they could just be playing with our hearts for a second time.
Splinter Cell is one of the franchises that perfected stealth gameplay. You play as Sam Fisher, a highly skilled agent, a member of a black-ops sub-division. What does this man do? He sneaks around and ruthlessly takes out his enemies in complete silence. This is one of Ubisoft’s flagship franchises, that’s why it’s strange that we haven’t seen a new entry in quite a while.
Remember that time when Julian Gerighty, creative director over at Ubisoft, said that he was already making a new Splinter Cell title? Only for Ubisoft to come out and say that it was all a joke? Twas a very mean and heartbreaking joke, one that I and many others still haven’t forgotten about. That’s why this cryptic tweet from Ubisoft Spain sounds fishy. It says:
Hace falta entender la oscuridad para poder hacerle frente… #SamFisher
That translates to: “You need to understand the darkness in order to face it”, which is the edge that this franchise is known for. Should we be hopeful? Should we hope for a new stealthy game featuring our boy Sam Fisher? Probably not, but I at least will still keep my hopes high. You never know how Ubisoft may surprise us, and not in an unpleasant way this time.
For any poor souls that haven’t experienced the stealthy goodness that this franchise offers, hear me out. Play Blacklist, the second-best game in the franchise. You can buy a Splinter Cell: Blacklist PC Game key on HRK Game for an epic price right this second!
