The dev of Phasmophobia shares some images of the upcoming Prison level that’s looking spine-chillingly creepy at the moment.
How often do we see quality multiplayer horror games? Hunt: Showdown is the only game that comes to mind, and that’s a fairly obscure title that many don’t know about. Making a game that feels scary and intense when you’re with other players is hard. Yet, Phasmophobia nails that perfectly. Heck, I’d even say that the fear factor of this title is even bigger because of other people. You feel safe when you’re all together, but when you separate so everyone can do some searching, things become eerie and suspensful.
I, for one, am surely not going to play the new level. Phasmophobia already puts me in uncanny supernatural situations that then haunt my dreams. Now Phasmophobia is getting a Prison level that makes my spine tingle with uneasy dread. It’s definitely scary, and it’s big. The latter being more of a concern than anything, as players don’t like the bigger maps all too much. You walk around in them too much. Asylum is too big, as players on Twitter often said, but Prison is a medium level. Not too big, not too small.
